Andrew would like our opinion of his project.

Nice kit. Though Plains indians are not my forte, it looks good to me. Maybe some of Pf's more knowledgable members care to comment on dress the warrior is wearing. Quang? Bruno?~Gary

I can't ay for certain, but two things bother me about this beautiful pice of work. First is the decoration coming out of the crown of the standing figure's head. I've seen thin referenced in many woodland Indian images, but not in the people of the plains. Did it ever happen? Possibly, but it just doesn't appear in my references by some pretty respected authors and artists.
Second, the Kepi next to the cavalryman. Minimally uncommon on the plains when Roman Nose would have been active. A wide brimmed hat would have provided more protection and comfort from the sun.
That said, and I could be way off base on my comments above, I think this is a stunning piece. If it were 54m mI'd be looking for a dealer as I type.

I can't comment on the accuracy of the piece, but I've painted a few Native American figures and would love to add this to the collection. I like the pose and composition.

Hi folks,
the figurine lucks very good to me. The singel feather in the middel of the hood is absolutly correct for Cheyenne. According to the Ledger Drawings of "Making Medicine" a Cheyenne warrior who was imprisoned at Florida, high raking warriors had suche war bonnets even in battle. The combination of white men cloth and classic Cheyennne cloth is very likely. Also the horn in them middle is documentatet for "Roman Nose", a name the white men gave him.

Best regards from Germany

Bruno

Plate 2E of Sun Bear in Osprey's Warriors at the Little Bighorn, 1876, #408, by Richard Hook shows a similiar head-dress, which is what drew me to the figure.~Gary

Hey Guy, I know your fingers are itching to paint this figure, will you be painting this figure soon? I'm looking forward to seeing your version.

Cheers
Roc.
