More castings on Ebay
I would like to bring to the attention of your readers the existence of a new figure manufacturer called the modellers union, this is a co-operative of modellers and sculptors who are being brought together to offer high quality figures at a reduced cost. The aim of the organisation is to manufacture figures with a `no frills` approach cutting costs by minimizing the need for expensive packaging, artwork, printed matter etc. The figures are cast in low volumes and the idea is for the moulds to be `run out` in one casting run, this amounts to less than 60 castings , the modellers behind the project pay for the master making, moulds and resin, they take what castings they need and the remainder of the run is sold off to cover the cost of the next master. As an example, the first figure to be released has been cast and about thirty figures of the original casting run remain, some of these castings are available on ebay please see the link above for details. as can be seen from the ebay listings the price of the figures is considerably lower than those we are used to paying.
Some of remaining castings will be available at Euro this year along with other figures due to be released .
