An excellent release. There's a lot to paint, there.
Time was, this same release from Pegaso would've generated a helluva lot more comment. Three replies in as many days (and one slating it)...

I would like to see member "yellowcat" to comment on this new release. I think he is not doing figure reviews anymore.

Technically it is a lovely looking piece, but it is a fairly mundane pose of a very common subject, the ancillary pieces actually look more interesting than Oda himself.

I know it comes down to familiarity but there are other historical Japanese subjects that could be done and which would likely generate more interest.
Shinsengumi, Hoheigumi, Byakkotai and many other unique uniforms and characters from the Satsuma, Aizu and Shogunate forces of the Boshin War period. Between them all there is a solitary 1/12 DGArt bust that seems virtually impossible to obtain in Europe.

I am commenting on this new release by special request from PF members.

This new release overall looks fine but lack of excitement. The same figure pose has been done numerous times before.
Here is the same pose of a Samurai figure kit in O-yorio armour by SOL.

The new release body armor looks like the same Oda’s replica armuor which is on display in the Samurai Museum in Sinjuku City, Tokyo, Japan.

The figure head looks small, it could be bigger. This is not rivet counting.
Please check out the following pictures. On the left side is the original release announcement, on the right side the figure head has been enlarged and superimposed onto the same body. The right side figure head is the correct size/scale in relation to the body and body armour when compare with the Samurai photos below the announcement.

Here are some references for the Oda crest and the Hata-jirushi (旗印)/ Nobori () war banners.

About Nobunaga's Crests
Oda Nobunaga is said to have used seven crests during his lifetime. The main four crests included the standard Oda family crest, the Oda Mokkou, said to represent the Japanese quince.
Another crest used by Nobunaga was the Ageha-cho, a swallowtail butterfly, as the Oda clan claimed to have descended from the noble Taira (Heike) clan who used this as their family emblem.
Nobunaga is also known to have used the Kiri-mon, as used by the ancient Imperial family and later Imperial court. The kiri, or paulownia, is a fast growing auspicious tree. According to legend,
it is that the only tree a phoenix would land in. This same crest was later used by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and in modern times by the Japanese government.
Another common crest used by Nobunaga was the Eiraku Tsuho coin.

The price for this new release is 60€. If you like the figure, buy it and paint it.

That‘s all folks! Sayonara!

I've seen far worse, but at first glance I'm not doing cartwheels either.

I agree with Rob's comment that the ancillary pieces are the most interesting aspect of the kit. Those look very nice.

Would I buy it? Maybe. But I'd want to see the resin first before pulling the trigger on it. So I won't be rushing to place an order.

A tour de force review Felix thank you. Agree with the head comment too as I noticed the head was also too small (when it was pointed out to me) with their last seated 90mm Ieyasu piece.
