A must for all you Sharpe fans, a new Sharpe novel.
" Sharpe's Command" set in 1812 with all the clan, Harper, Hagman, Harris, Perkins.

It'll be simple, Major Sharpe, March a hundred miles behind enemy lines,
have a sniff around the enemy forts , and come back to tell us what you discover.
What can go wrong?

Sharpe, said nothing.

I've read the first few pages, and I'm hooked already.

Having read the first few pages, I can't stop now, so reading 2 books at once now, both from Bernard Cornwell. :D

The thing was due for publication a year ago........and I was teed up for a copy.
But for reasons unexplained it was delayed for a year... worth the wait though

Wasn't Sharpe's Assassin released last year, or was it earlier than that.

And here I was thinking that Mr. Cornwell was done with the Sharpe series. :wideyed: I'm tickled pink to learn that there is not just one book, but two that I need to add to the collection. I'll be ordering both pronto. Malc I'm very glad that you posted this! (y)

Two other authors I'd recommend, both historical fiction set primarily in the pre and post ww2 eras.

Alan Furst, author of the Bernie Gunther series. I recommend you begin with "March Violets" set in Berlin in the early 1930's.

Philip Kerr writes novels set in Europe just prior to WW2. Kerr's novels don't have to be read in any particular order, each is a stand alone story without repeating characters.

Ordered Sharpe's Assassin at my local Barnes and Noble last Sunday. I was informed that 'Command' won't be available till April! o_O

Oh well, good things come to those who wait! :)
