Hello all, I have just started painting figures, have been modelling for about 34 years, cars in the main although as a kid aircraft and armour. At a recent model show in the UK I was informed about this wonderful site and visited for the first time today, wonderful, all of the work is so inspiring!

I have attached an image of my 4th figure, sorry still find it difficult to get away from my car interest! The shield is 'Cavalino' is painted free hand.

Comments would be most welcome.

Welcome to the planet Tim. You have done a beautiful job for your 4th figure. I wish my 4th looked that good.

I had to quickly reduce the size of your photos as even my high speed internet had problems downloading photos so massive. Now everyone can see without scrolling back and forth. It takes awhile to get used to all the ins and outs of the forum.

Welcome to the Planet, Tim!

Im sure you will like it here. Thats very good for a beginner. I reallly like the metallic effect on the helmet.

Perhaps a dark wash on the chainmail would make it stand out more? I see its had a wash but the impression is a little bit uneven, but it could be the light playing tricks?

Cheers

Welcome Tim,

You come to the right place. Here it is happen. Beware for the dark side.
One's you like it here i promise you,,, you never pick up a car again.
Then you never paint Ferrari Horses on shields. again.
Great work, but i think there are some people who have problems with the very nice painted heraldic :)

Keep posting..

Welcome, Tim.

I discovered pF about six weeks ago and have found it to be a great environment to learn from some real masters. The work on this site is some of the best in the world (literally). What's great is that people from all over the globe come together with a singular love for fine scale figure modeling.

By the way, for easy photo management, might I suggest your setting up a free account on KitPic (see icon, upper right corner of page). You can upload photos from your computer to this site, and resize them for easy management. It took me a little while to get it dialed in, but now I find it very easy to post photos of my work.

As others say here, keep the brushes wet!

Cheers,

Kyle

Thanks guys for all your comments.

Sorry I hadn't posted this before, thought I had, but there you go.

MAB

praise from you is praise indeed, but I think perhaps you might be a bit partisan, Forza Ferrari absolutely all the the way!!!, I've been a tifosi since 1975.

I really do like this website, you all are so helpful for a newbie like me.

garyjd, megroot

I must say, the stacks of unmade car models in the garage are remaining there, my interest currently is firmly, with figures, I have now completed my 6th and 7th figures see alternative posts, and have just bought my 8th figure a stunning 180mm French Hussar from Le Cimier, awesome sculpting!

To the rest of I'll keep doing my best and thanks for the encourgement.

Tim
