Hello, my name is Blake Lasslett and I just wanted say hello. I am new to the forum and fairly new to figures. I used to model a little when I was younger and now I am 18 and looking for a hobby. I recently purchased a Tamiya 1/16 Elite Infantry figure which I am working on right now. I also purchased some Warhammer figures on ebay and a Pegaso Teutonic knight from Colorado Miniatures. I have not received them yet but I will painting the Warhammer figures first for practice. I am very interested in painting and sculpting (Which I will be trying due to John Neill's sculpting contest on Armorama.com).

Welcome to the Planet, Blake!

Hope you will enjoy it here. :)

Im not sure it Warhammer figures are good to practise upon, I find them hard to paint. My suggestion for starting out is good sculpted 54mm or 1/35 figures.
A good sculpt is so much easier to paint and assemble. Not that Warhammer have many parts. ;)

Cheers

Blake, Welcome to Pf. Paint whatever it is that interests you, regardless of scale. The fact your eyes are younger than a lot of us should make thos Warhammer figures not too difficult to paint.~Gary

A big welcome to the Planet Blake...great to see you have given yourself a few different choices..
good luck in trying all the various scales.. (y)

All the best....Roy.

Welcome aboard Blake. If you want relatively inexpensive 54mm guys to practice on, you can't go wrong with buying a bag of plastic soldiers produced by Barszo. They have soldiers from different eras in great action poses. Just slap a little primer on 'em & off you go.

Mike

Thanks for all the greetings guys.

Uruk-Hai - The problem with most 54mm and higher figures is they are to darn expensive. I purchased a few Warhammer Fantasy Bretonnian knights and archers for around $1.50-3 each on eBay.

mikec55 - I am really only interested in Roman, Medieval, and WWII eras, which Barszo doesn’t carry.
