Based on a painting by Augusto Ferrer Dalmau, "Prim and the Catalan Volunteers", it is a pleasure to announce our annual commemorative figure, the fourth in the series dedicated to the African War of 1859-60:
Spanish cuirassier, 1859.
Scale: 54 mm.
Modelled by Antonio Zapatero
Painting by Miguel Ángel García
Produced in resin.
(Scenic elements are not included)
Greetings and thanks.

Fantastic figure, love the uniform. Great sculpt and will be a joy to paint. Are these figures available commercially?

Cheers Simon

Good morning Paco.
I have sent an email as you suggested but received no answer. Are you sure they are trading?

Oda.

Don't worry; my colleague in charge of shipping will answer you for sure.
Thank you very much

The Alabarda.net website is well worth a visit. There's loads of great content for us, click the link for the Blog and you'll see some great SBS on modelling and painting. I particually enjoyed seeing the artwork of Augusto Ferrer-Dalmau expressed in model form. Of course, all the text is in Spanish.

My Spanish language skills don't go much further than "Dos cervezas por favor" but that's not a problem as you can always use Google translate.

Please accept my apologies if you think I'm being patronising. This is just a tip for anyone who's struggling with foreign language websites and doesn't know what to do about it. All non-English speakers know this, but us native English speakers can be a little Anglo-centric at times.

When you're on a Spanish (or whatever) website and you want to translate a fragment of Spanish text into English do this:
  1. Create a New Tab in your web browser (I can't be specific as they're all different) and type into the search box at the top "Spanish to English". This should take you to Google Translate.
  2. Copy and Paste your Spanish text into the first box and you'll get a good English translation into the second box. There's a character limit so just do one fragment at a time.
Something like this:

Happy translating! Hasta la vista Baby...

Cheers Steve that's helpful, I do most of my browsing on he phone now so will have to breakout the laptop. Annoyingly my wife's phone does the translations for her! The Albarda site is definitely one worth visiting, I can see myself doing f some Spanish subjects in the near future.

Cheers Simon
