I'll probably pick up the two Iberians, both superb.

The Varangian is a nice piece in itself as well, and that idol is a very nice touch. But (outstanding sculptor that he is) Oleg needs to start varying his work a bit more.

Too many of his figures follow pretty much the same pattern (snarling bearded face / outstretched arms wielding weapons / slight twist of the torso to the left). I already have three like that, not too sure that I really need a fourth.

Echoing your thoughts and feelings.

Plus 1 to Steve's comments.

We had a thread on this site not too long ago about many figures seeming to be based on a common base figure / head but with some armour and clothing 'tweaks'. I see so many common details in a number of Mercury and Revolution Mins figures I have in my stash and the Varangian continues that theme.

The Iberians are superb however and show Oleg's colossal talent as a Premier League sculptor and I look forward to seeing (and buying) more like these which are of an unusual subject and not 'action' poses.
