Very nice looking figure, still looks menacing in a static pose. Is it possible to see a picture of the unpainted figure to see how well detailed he is.Ta

A great looking figure and clearly real fun to paint.......but......it just doesn't do it for me it just leans too far into fantasy for my taste.
As I'm keying this i'm looking at my old PM version so perhaps I'm being a bit harsh comparing it to in my opinion the best rendition.
Regards
Derek

very cool. The high cheek bones hint at the far east and the hint allows the painter to decide what he will actually be. Very cool amount of fur to paint and do fun stuff with. I will for sure be getting this one.

Nice touch with the youtube walk-around (y)

Sculpted and painted beautifully :)

This will appeal to a much wider demographic, which our craft is surely needing!

Nice figure,Beautifully painted, love all those colours in the flesh and the high contrast in the highlights.
As for the sculpting, the pheromones are wafting from my modem.Well done.

Note: must get me some puffy pants.

Thank you very much for that Pedro, I think the figure looks awesome with out any paint, you can see all the details without the painters exagerated shadows and highlights. The folds in the pants are excellent, and the musculature is well defined.

Meanwhile, a greeting to all and Happy New Year!
The subject, for the installation, is virtually identical to the Poste Militaire figure presented some years ago.
To what we know, there are no portraits of Attila, although some scholars speculate that his features are reproduced on a coin (exhibited at the British Museum - see Osprey Elite Series n°30 Attila and the Nomad Hordes, photo at page 3) under the guise of a serpent crushed under foot of an Roman Emperor (Valentinianus III or Marcianus).
Only our informations about Attila is from historian Prisco di Panion what, in 448, describes Attila in this way: "Low in stature, with a broad chest and a large head, his eyes were small, his grizzled beard and thin and he had a flat nose and dark complexion, which highlighted its origin"
Physically, Attila was a type of East Asian or Mongolian (or perhaps a mixture of this kind and that of central Turkic peoples) and there is no doubt that good sculpture of the face represents an individual of Mongoloid strain as Huns they were, but personally I suppose that a King was protected by a secure and full armour and a helmet as also rich, and not </SPAN>as bare-chested as warrior of </SPAN>lowest hierarchical level.
The curved sword looks very "Saracen" (!) and the scabbard on the right, so put it, makes it impossible to drawn.
A little advice for painters:
Sidonius Apollinaris, ancient roman writer (430/486) so describes us the Huns: "horrible were also the faces of their babies, whose head was a shapeless mass round. The eyes were deep set under the front, a flat nose that almost does not protrude from the face. Since male infants was close to a bandage on his nose in order to prevent its growth, this is because the nose did not exceed the protection of helmet. They made cuts on the face of children to prevent the growth of the beard and make him more fearsome”.
Personally "affect" many signs of scars on the cheeks, obviously not red that "means" recent, but white ....
In conclusion, a good job of folds and anatomy, but historically inaccurate!

Just and example, Did you see the movie Brave Heart from Mel Gibson, 5 Oscar winner but not historical accurate.

This figure is a good example of artistic license, very attractive but maybe not historical accurate (I didn't know Attila in person)

Almost 90% of figures at market could be historical inaccurate, I guess, but for ME this won't stop me to buy figures and have fun painting (personal taste)

There is always options like; sculpt your own figures or do a conversion...
