Greetings,
The good news side of Shenandoah's price increase announcement is that Paul Clarke (owner/sculptor) is working on some new releases for later on this year. This is exciting news because he hasn't released any new figures in 3 years (since "Behind the Split Rail Fence" series).
The weak state of the US dollar is to blame, but we'll also see some price increases coming from US manufacturers.
Both Verlinden and Imrie Risley have announced price increases forthcoming. No word from Verlinden yet, but IR will increase all figure prices $1-$2 effective 4/1.
Gray brings up a good point about existing products (Fuslier). New releases will already reflect higher prices (good example is Andrea's $36 price on new 54-mm Napoleonic). But as we retailers restock existing products, higher costs will force price increases. Most of this being driven by US dollar situation...not actual price increases in foriegn currency amounts from manufacturers.
Nimix is another example. Their fine line of photo etched accessories will also increase soon!
