Happy New Year to all.
Just back from a quick after Xmas break in Newacstle and dropped into the Discovery Centre for the 300 years of history of the Northern Cavalry.
If you're up in the North it's well worth the visit and best of all it's FREE.
they also have a cracking castle along with an excellent Roman display at the Great North Museum.
Some pics attached along with the link.
The WW1 statue in town is amazing also
Best of luck this coming year and keep the brushes moving.
Jonathan
The GNM also has a cracking T Rex... just in case you need to bribe the missus and kids

Oh dear. Who did their Roman reconstructions?

Oval shield should be curved and those valleys fastners were misidentified , probably to do with horse harness.

Honestly museums need to check their old displays and correct them. I’ve seen Squamata scales identified as cingulum fittings before.
