And The Church is Moving - After Almost 400 years ...!
On November 2, 1992, the astronomer Galileo Galilei ...
... formally rehabilitated by the Catholic Curia.
This is the first time that the Catholic Church officially recognizes the worldview developed by Galileo between 1610 and 1615!
On the basis of meticulous research, observations and calculations, Galileo, then court mathematician of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, had Cosimo II. De ’Medici in Florence ...
... proved that the earth is not the center of all the stars (what the church taught), but part of a system of planets that all revolve around the sun.
During his research, Galileo was no less than six times from Pope Urban VIII.

In his work "Il Saggiatore" the astronomer went further and presented his results as facts ...:
This now called the "Holy" Inquisition on the scene!
Galileo was accused of "disobedience" to the Pope and of heresy.
He could only save his life from the Inquisition Tribunal by revoking his view of the world!
After he had sworn off his mistakes, "cursed and detested" them (quote from an old script!), He was "only" sentenced to life imprisonment.
He was also instructed to pray the seven penitential psalms weekly for three years.
In truth, however, Galileo stuck to his view of the world, even if the claim that he is said to have mumbled "Eppur si muove" (and it [the earth] does move) when leaving the courtroom is now considered an afterthought.
After the judgment, Galileo remained under arrest in the embassy of the Duchy of Tuscany in Rome. After a few weeks he was placed under the supervision of the Archbishop of Siena, who, however, was his ardent admirer and supported him as much as he could.
After five months, in December 1633, he was allowed to return to his villa "Gioiella" in Arcetri ...
... remained under house arrest, combined with the prohibition of any teaching activity. When he asked for permission to see doctors in Florence because of a painful hernia, his request was turned down with warnings that further such requests would lead to the release of house arrest and incarceration.
Galileo remained under strict house arrest even after he became completely blind in 1683 ...:
He died on January 8, 1642 in Arcetri.
A solemn burial in a splendid grave, which the Grand Duke had planned, was prevented by the church!
Galileo was initially buried anonymously in Santa Croce in Florence. It was not until about 30 years later that the grave was erected with an inscription ...:
In 1992, the narrow-minded and backward-looking Catholic Curia had no choice but to rehabilitate Galileo Galilei when it no longer wanted to make a mockery of itself.
She still stubbornly clings to other nonsensical dogmas, such as the "immaculate conception" ...
