Hello all.
This is my latest work and the first on PF . I have been a member since 2016 and lurking before that . I'm pretty bad with computers so have not shared anything before this.
This is posted from my phone so I hope it will work out.
The bust is from Nutsplanet and inspired by the movie " Kingdom of heaven " .
I have had this in my greay army for several years and finally started to paint it. In my opinion it is very good quality and the only drawback was the fit of the helmet .
I used oils for the face and the back of the shield. The rest was acrylics , some metallic pigments and inks. Any comments, constructive critisicm or questions are welcome.
Thank you .

Very nice paintwork. His face looks blushed, as you would expect from a native of Europe finding himself in the sun of the Holly Land

Cheers,

Benny

Hello Benny. Yes, that was my aim. Being from Europe and wearing that armor you are bound to sweat.;) I remember from my army days ,that my face and hands were well tanned and the rest of the body quite pale . That was in Finland , never mind the hot sun in the middle east .:)

Something I noticed on myself and other fare-skinned people in sunny climate, is that after long exposure to the sun, once you are in the shadow (in a room, under a tree, etc.) you have an effect that is actually in some way reversed to the traditional zenithal highlights-shadows paradigm we are used to - the prominent and upper facing parts of our skin become blushed and tanned and thus darker in tone than the recessed parts which remain closer to their original tone, and thus, lighter. I never tried to depict this in a figure, and actually never saw it done intentionally by others. Might be interesting...

Again, enjoined to watch your work,

Benny
