Hi Folks,

Another slow burner from the back of the part-finished shelf, which was waiting for me to get around to it.
Thanks to Paul (DaddyO), and his well timed Tuit, I’ve managed to extract the digit, and finish it off.
This time it’s a 54mm Chota Sahib (again) of an Officer, 28th Regt. (Gloucestershire), 1815.

Painting is my usual oils over enamels with some printers inks (some mixed with Humbrol matt enamel, and some neat).
Hope you like it.

Cheers,
Andrew

Am oldie but goodie! This was one of Sid's earlier efforts in the Chota Sahib range. Have got a couple of these in my box of derelict figures (one's an Argyll and Sutherland radio operator from NI service), could be worth a strip-down and a re-paint

The sword looks a bit on the large side to my dodgy eyesight, but it could just be the photo.

Nice one Andrew - god to see you got it finished (y) (I've got a real soft spot for these old figures having cut my teeth on them when they first came out and completed several when I started a few years ago again mainly because they were well priced and have a great 'paint me' quality)
Cheers

Thank you for looking and taking the time to comment Richard.
Your eyesight is definitely not dodgy. The sword is a trifle wide in the kit.

Cheers,
Andrew

Thank you for your kind comment Paul.
Like you, I've happened across a few Chota Sahibs, Cheshire Volunteers and Hornets at various shows.
They've all been fun to paint.
Pity we're a bit short on shows at the moment.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Andrew

Good to see the digit removed and another nice piece from the shelf of shame it looks good , nice reds

Didn't realise Sid H did this , wasn't a version on a old Mil Modelling magazine cover as well ?

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Very nicely done. I know that sculpting has moved on but there's something very pleasing about this style.(y)
They lend themselves to be painted in every style from toy soldier technique to hyper-detail painting.
A bit of care and a fine result is practically certain.

You can find the full range of CS miniatures on Lou Masses' website, under 'Vintage Figures'
http://www.lrmminiatures.com/chota-sahib-miniatures.html
Just scroll down to 'The full Catalog of Chota Sahib Kits', where you'll find 14 pages.

Cheers,
Andrew

I totally agree with your thoughts regarding these OOP figures.

Your colour recollection is spot-on Paul.
It was January 1982, for the princely sum of 70p.
