See you soon

This is a lovely portrayal by Moz of Lt. Col. Galbraith holding the Regimental Colour. I am surmising it is Galbraith because he is wearing boots and spurs as befitting a mounted infantry officer, as Galbraith was. Galbraith fell wounded in both legs and the colour was carried by other member of the Regiment before being lost at the fall of the last man of the Last Eleven in the garden at Khig.
The painting above is of that stand and is by Peter Archer, it features men of the now sadly gone Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire). The officer holding the colour was the regimental adjudant, there is a Sergeant one of our Fijians, a Corporal and a private. I am definately going for this one.

Superb sculpt, also good to see something of my own Grand-fathers regiment The Royal Berkshire Regiment ( pronounced "Barkshire" Kev!) later to amalgamate with the Wiltshire Regiment in the late 1950's/early 1960's to become the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment as Dennis said, and then to further amalgamate two more times, shame all the superb county Regiments have now disappeared into the mists of time.
I think this one is on the wish list for me. (y)
Cheers
Jim

Hi Stuart, that's a great piece and I'm afraid to agree with the others, looks like you're going to have to add to this chap, he really needs to have a couple of other lads defending the colours. Great work.
Regards
Chris.
