Kit review-Officer of the Chasseurs of the Imperial guard

INTRODUCTION:
I recently saw this kit for the first time on this site. I knew then and there I had to have it. In the last week of October I ordered the figure direct from Andrea. It arrived yesterday.
The figure is the Andrea 90mm Mounted- “Officer de chasseurs de la Garde Imperiale-1812.. I hope this review creates the same interest and excitement I had when the kit was delivered. To my mind it is the finest figure I have placed my hands on in a number of years.

HISTORICAL NOTES:
The figure as previous reviewed in the forum is based on a painting issued by artist Theodore Gericault and presented within the Salon de Paris in 1812. What makes the painting most interesting are the deep expressive colors and the pose presented by the figure.

THE KIT:
Andrea Item S8-F43
Material: White Metal and resin
Pieces: 52
Weight: unknown
Size; 90mm

A cardboard box with an inner protective sleeve surround a pad containing the 52 cast parts and resin base. A extremely well prepared (40 page paint chart and piece placement guide accompany the figure:

QUALITY:
This perhaps is the finest quality figure I have inspected in a long time period. The parts are well detailed and of superb design. They fit well together but there will be some lines requiring milliput to make them seamless.. I would highly recommend the figure to anyone interested in the Napoleonic period. Although, some would point out the figure has been done before this is the highest quality example I have reviewed myself.

PAINTING:
Based, on my observations I would classify this kit as Medium to Expert. What I am impressed with is a painting chart that helps in advance with the pesky problem of lights and shadows and finding that right combination to paint a figure properly. This seems solved at the beginning before the first paint is placed on the unit

Here is the box as i opened it with the parts:

COMMENTS:
To use a phrase for another medium to describe this figure, two thumbs up Andrea for a fine crafted kit. IE: Must have piece.
In conclusion many thanks for the assistance of Veronica Miranda of Miniaturas Andrea SL in seeing me through the purchase. The depicted figure guide and color chart are the property/copyright of Andrea.
