As I posted before, stunting paint work, I am sure this figure will do very well. Do you know from Andy if there is anyone in the UK planning to stock this figure? Or if there will be any on sale at Euro Militaire?

Sorry yet another question have you been commissioned to do the box art for any of the other figures in this range?

Just as an aside I was reading in the Osprey book 'The New Zealand Wars' and the 57th Reg'tal History regular troops wore leather leggings! Can't say I've seen these over-trousers before; here's hoping there is a picture of them in the book recommended by Mike 'The Colonial New Zealand Wars'.

Cheers

Hello Roy,many thanks for your kinds words. I will find out about the availability of the figure in the UK. I know Andy does sell his figures through SK Miniatures in the UK. I do hope to paint more box art work for Andy when extends the range .
There are several soldiers in The Colonial New Zealand Wars book that are wearing the leather leggings and a illustration I was commissioned to paint for the book portraying two Forest Rangers, an Officer and a Private. The private has leather leggings on.
Regards,John

Such an unusual subject that I might have to pick one of these up. I also enjoy painting blues and find John's excellent box art piece very inspiring.

Hi John
Yes I know Steve at SKM so will ping him an email regards this new range.

Researching the NZWs 1860/66 (since discovering a family link) is a real eye opener for me. In the 57th Reg'tal History the Rangers and Militia receive high praise as do the Maori foe for acts of bravery. To be honest I always thought of 'Queen Victoria's Little Wars' as a cake walk for well armed and well drill troops compared to the European conflicts of the mid and late 19th century which is my main interest - blimey have I been put in my place!:sorry:

Regarding the Forest Rangers there is an item at the foot of this web page about Major von Tempsky of the Forest Rangers http://www.newzealandwars.co.nz/campaigns/southtaranaki.html

Just as an aside - with some minor adjustments to the facial hair on Andy's figure it could be converted to Von Tempsky as per the Osprey illustration.

Cheers and looking forward to your excellent brush work in future posting.
Roy
