Hi again
This time comes an excelent sculpt of Raúl García Latorre for Art Girona. It is based on an Angus McBride illustration. The harder parts of this mini were the leather jerkin, that required a lot of job to texturize, and the grey cloth, with a lot of cleaning involved in order to get the right gradations with such a light tone.
Here are the pics:

Fernando, superb painting and great groundwork, I also must congratulate you on the leather work.
Many thanks for showing.
Cheers Ken

Thanks all for your comments. This one is the last historical miniature that I have painted and I'm very happy with it :).

Anders, these are the colours of the leather vest:

Base colour: Black Red (859)
1st highlight: Base + Terracota (citadel)
2nd highlight: Terracota (pure)
3rd highlight: Terracota + Orange Brown (918)
4th highlight: Orange Brown (pure)
5th highlight (last one in very small points): Orange Brown + Sunny Skintone (845).
Shadows: Base + Periscope (a colour from the Vallejo's Panzer Aces line that is somthing like a very deep turquoise) in several applications.

Aditional shadings and intermediate tones to add richness to the final result:
- Periscope (pure with lots of water)
- Leviathan Purple ink (Citadel)
- Baal Red ink (Citadel)
- Ogryn Flesh ink (Citadel)

The trick is to make a quick mock-up of the position of light and shadow, and then you blend it. You need to have all mixes at hand (I use a pill's blister sheet) so you can add a bit of what is necesary. In that second stage is were you add al the small cuts and wear that give the leather all the character. These are pics of the mini in the first stage:

It is missing the extrem highlights too, but maybe you can get an idea. I was going to leave it like this but some others painters and friends suggested me to ad a bit more of contrast and wear to the leather. I'm glad I did it :D:D:D.

The leather finished so you can make an easy comparison:

Hope it helps :).

I don't know what is happening. I have tried to post them again but it's the same problem again. They do not even appear in Imageshack... Does anybody know how to repair it? Do I have to upload the images again from my computer to Imageshack or is there anything easier that I can do?

Beautiful work Fernando. The leather parts are very realistic. The face is also great. A superb work overall.

Fernando, I don't know where I was when you posted this one, but it is just fantastic! It's been said, but the shading on the vest is simply outstanding. I also REALLY like the hand painted plaque for the base. Hats off to you and your efforts here for sure!

Excellent job Fernando.

I love the groundwork also. Simple but very effective. In fact - talk me through the groundwork if you will!

Your work is perfect!
I liked the color of the leather in particular.
The design of the pants is also amazing.
I congratulate completion.
