WIP Critique Old Barbarian

Hi friends,
here is the start of the Barbarian by Black Sun Miniatures, 75mm resin.
I wanted a very reddish skin tone, almost like Indians, so i used 3 colors of the flesh set by S75 : indian shadow, basic flesh and light pink flesh, i painted it by overlapping numerous glazes using those three colors.
in the same time i used the NMM technic to prepare the gold metal parts which were finally painted with metalics colors (S75 again) once again using glazes over the fundation.
the shield is a try at representing Chrome like metal ... at this point i'm still not sure of the effect as it works while using peripherical vision but is still looks strange when looking directly at it ...
tattoos were done by using deep blue mixed with the basic skin tones.

Hello Winfield, no stress : no offense taken at all ! i'm aware of this "legend" i used this just to depict which kind of tonality i was after while painting the skintones

some more work done today (a whole day off is priceless !) : worked on the suede pants and red flaps.
I also begun the serious job on the groundwork.
pictures taken in daylight outside ... first time in 2018 it was feeling ok to hang out on the patio !
(and don't worry : the beer won't get warm quickly ... LOL)

I've made some changes : the brownish / suede color of the pants were not contrasting enough with the gold.
I applied 3 glazes with eclipse Grey for the shadows, rainy grey for the highlights and finally a very light filter of purple ink.
I think it brings more the gold in focus, while keeping the leather look.
what do you think ?
