I've been following this thread on the Great War Forum about a British officer and pilot, Capt. Ranson. He apparently kept a chest of mementos, photos, diaries, letters, etc., during the Great War and afterward during his service in various places with the RAF. He was killed in a training accident in 1924 apparently, but some wise relative kept all the things together. It's a veritable treasure trove! Hope you enjoy it.

All the best,

John - I don't see why any of the sculptors (or in my case sculptor-wannabe) couldn't do one. There are several good photos of the "one man" in question. The one that comes to mind to me is the photo of Capt. Hanson standing next to the Sphinx. I'm not very good making "likenesses", however. Just not that skilled yet.

I think a very good book could be written from the material in the box. One that I'd buy for sure.

All the best,
Dan

Interesting story. In the course of my current research, I discovered that the daughter of one of the men I am researching threw everything related to her father's wartime experience (ACW) down the well in their backyard. :(
