Morning Guys,
Hope you like this rendition of this well known bust ,when I got him had very poor chainmail detail if any in some places etc but it was the face that sold me anyway did some homework found that the order of St Laz was not just for Lepers etc that alot of its members were also sword brothers etc to these sick men and that members from other orders could be released to St Laz to see out or forefill there duties in pennence etc. As a order for the lepers alot of the clothing was donations or what the soldier had so I felt that it might look better with his old order showing partly under his new orders colours and a hand me down cloak and as these guys were left to there own devises (I remember trying to sew ). I felt that they would not appear as well tailored as there counterparts....... Anyway enough rambling on with the show.
Any comments taken on board hope you like him

Regards
Chris

Lazurus

Nick ,
Nice idea to give him a cloak , I would probably dirty this and his whites up a little , but this is a good version of the model , nice treatment of the metallics .

Brother......
can see what you have been after, but l feel his cloak looks a wee weak in the folds and edges perhaps a welted edge and textured surface to make it look more thread bare.....
mate must say l do like the colours they work well with the face and the drop shade on the cross , he! he!..nice touch...

Good stuff...Phil.

How 'bout a few blotches of leprosy on his face mate???:eek:

I'd like to see you go hard on the weathering and really grot him up. He needs loads of dried mud, dust and stains on his cloak, surcoat and helmet, in my humble opinion.

I've been lucky enough to see this bust up close and the addition of the cloak really makes this very different and unique from all the other versions I've seen.

Obviously the renovations are going slowly:p
