Here are the first pics, please feel to offer any "help".
In the past I have avoided painting my figures with black hair but now I feel this figure needs it and I am struggling to make that moustache look realistic, any tips?
The lips and five o clock shadow have been improved upon since these phots were taken.

To the moustache you can mix: base.- BLACK + ENGLISH UNIFORM; lights.-ADDING MORE ENGLISH UNIFORM AND SUNNY SKINTONE. It's an idea.

Roger,
I think you must redo the eyes, at least line them up. The left eye is out of the eyepocket. The right pupil is to close to the nose.
I now you can do it, and it is worth a try.

Thanks Marc, I wasn't entirely happy with them. As with the 54mm Poilu figure I have a problem with left eyes. I read somewhere, can't remember where, but it might have something to with me being lefthanded.
He is actually supposed to be looking to his left, would this still make his right eye wrong?
Thanks for taking the time to look, it's much appreciated,

Roger.

Roger - I think Marc is right. Difficult to tell how the pupils are lined up because the darker shadow from the cap makes them hard to see. Is it possible to take one more photo with lighting set up to eliminate that shadow? Just a suggestion. I've no doubt you'll get it right in the end!

All the best,
Dan

Hi Dan,
Marc was right. I did have doubts about the eyes and Marc confimed them.
I have since corrected the left eye and have made a start on the right. Mine are going funny now so I've stopped for a break. Anyway a brand new Sharpe is on TV here tonight.

Roger.

Roger,

Maybe this would help. If you are right handed paint the left eye first.
And i paint (with oils) the eye always with the point of a needle.
When it is very difficult to reach the eyes i put the figure upside down. In that case right remains right.
And above all, i have never paint the eyes good in the first time
It looks when you build up the offwhite at the noos side it is gonna looks better. Maybe try that at first.
Just thoughts to help you.
But with your skills it is gonna be allright.

Marc
