hello guys,
I'm new here, the name's Erwin from the Netherlands, 36 years old and a fanatic
figure/ bust painter.
I will soon start painting a Samurai warrior, but I have one problem.
Don't know how to achieve a Japanese skincolor.
Any ideas?
Attention: I use only Humbrol and Winsor & Newton oilpaint!!!!

Thanx, Erwin

Welcome to the planet Erwin,

I use the skin tones formula, lightened a little with Yellow ochre, that I also use on my Native Americans and the Mongol, Asian figures. Click on My Gallery in this posting and see if that is what you are looking for.

hello Erwin.

You are here on the only place for painting figure's.
I learned so much from these guys.
If you looking for something here is the place to ask.
Sorry i can't help you, i am just beginning. But i am glad there is someone from the netherlands on the planet.
By the way where you on saterday by my club AMSS in Antwerp.

Voor de cursus van Gino.
Er zou iemand uit utrecht geweest zijn.

Groeten Marc

Welcome-

Here is a link to Mark Bannerman's method. Some don't like his wash techniques but his oil mixes are useful.

I have one book by Mike Blank who uses enamels for flesh (brrr...) but I don't think he mentions an asian enamel mix. I'll look tonight and if there is something useful, I'll post.

Hi Erwin,
Welcome to our world!
I posted a similar request a little while ago. Here is a link to the thread...
Oriental skintone thread

I reattached the picture so you could see it but it's not a good paint mix. I used the advice I got on the thread to repaint it and this is how it's looking now. I've made some more progress on the rest of the piece and I'm hoping to have enough to post new pictures soon.
I hope this helps you out.
Craig

Hi Irwin, try various mixes of Yellow Ochre, Red Ochre, black and a little white; I use these as the basis of all my ethnic fleshtones and they are very versatile.
