Oils Painting Bronze

Hi all. I am trying to figure out the best way to paint Bronze. This is for the Seil General Chin bust I'm just starting. The body armour is metal and the head/helmet is resin so there is bronze on both. I normally use an acrylic base with oils over top. I do have Rembrandt Bronze oil paint, but don't know if I should just apply it on top of a dark brown or sepia acrylic basecoat and once dry stipple sepia and gold oils for shadows and highlights. Any suggestions?

Thanks Carl. I'm using Vallejo acrylics but maybe I can come close to those.
