Hi well ive been painting for a while now. Im happy of what i come out with but i want to progress. I will be building this figure and painting. How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice.

Without knowing what standard you're at now it's hard to give any specific advice. It's better to establish a base of solid skills and build from there rather than shooting for amazing, particularly earlier on. It should come naturally, if you can develop to the necessary level; but not everyone can, any more than playing violin for years doesn't necessarily equate with good enough to play professionally.

Tom, linger around, ask plenty of questions, even if it seems obvious. There a good many of tutorials and step by step articles here (with more on the way) .

Ideally, seek out a local figure club and see the works of others first hand or a local painting seminar workshop.
