painting pleats on a highlander

Does anyone have any pictures of a highlander from the back side? I'm trying to figure out how the pattern would look in the pleated part in the back. There doesn't seem to be a lot of pictures out there on the 'net of people in their kilts from behind (not that I can blame them). :lol:

Hi Wendy, In my collection of back issues of Mil Mod magazine I'm sure there is an article about kilt pleats. I'll see if I can find it and scan it for you. It's almost 22:00 here so I'll look tomorrow.

This is my 42nd "The Black Watch" figure from Pegaso at 54mm.. Do be honest with you, the back of the kilt where the pleats are don't show much at this scale.

There was a great article that covered tartan in Military modelling including all the patterns of pleats - ie. box pleats - and how trews are cut.
Most would be lost on a small fig.
