Painting White Leather

Does anyone have any tips for painting white leather such as rifle straps or pack straps?

Would appreciate any sugestions.

White is one of the difficult colors beside black.
You made a basecolor off for instance burnt umber.
Then you mix burnt umber with white and a little touch of blue.
This is your base color.
Shading is done with a little more burnt umber to the base.
Highlighting only with white.
