Hello,

When I spray on Model Masters Flat Clear Laquer to seal my project between steps, sometimes I end up with small white dots all over the model. When dry they can be rubbed off with a stiff brush or a little laquer thinner. This does not happen all the time (only when I really do not need it to). Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas. I am using a compressor with inline filter, paasche airbrush, brand new well shaken and stirred paint, the first color that I have sprayed in that session with the airbrush being cleaned after each use. It is not being put on too heavy or settling in the folds, just looks like white overspray.

Thank You

John's right. Poor mixing or too much flat base. It tends to frost up when mixed to heavily. Also, I found that, regardless of cleaning it between each color, you need to break it down and THROUGHLY clean it prior to any clear base going through it. You (as you have discovered) always get these white specks all over everything because of the trash and gunk still in your airbrush. Fix one of these two and I'm sure you'll have your problem licked.

Sean, this sounds like the matting agent but it's possible the varnish is drying a little before hitting the model - a touch lower pressure or spraying from a little closer might help.

Thanks for your advice, sounds like I am not mixing the paint enough and will try dropping the pressure some too. Sean
