WOW, superb figure. What medium did you use. I hope to admire it at Euro. Everything is great about it: the face, the black clothing, the metal parts, groundwork, just perfect.
This is excellent. Nice subtle colours and the facial tones are very convincing. I'm not familiar with the figure but having seen your version, it's one I would like to have a go at.
The figure is Latorres 70mm German Knight and is painted entirely in oils.
I just wish i could get better photographs to do him justice but he'll be at Euro so anybody going will be able to see him in the flesh

Brian, I REALLY like the dark tones. Hopefully it's not all the photograph as I (personally) like the darker tones on a mideviel figure. Kinda sets the mood. I know. It's a personal taste but your's happens to be where I wish I could get mine to be. Very nice . Good luck at Euro but I'm sure you won't need it.
Thanks to everybody's comments on this figure they are very much appreciated.
Hope to bump into you guys who'll be going to Euro.I'll be the overweight old Scotsman sitting in the Clifton bar each night partaking of a cup of tea!!!

Hi Sephan
For black i undercoat 2 different ways as i like to experiment.
1 Grey Primer
2 Andreas Confederate Grey
I use mix of lamp black and naples yellow to give me a warm grey tone .I then shade with lamp black and highlight with more naples yellow.
Two things to remember blot the oil out of the lamp black and naples yellow and then use artists spirits to get the consistancy of butter and hopefully it will dry matt
This figure was painted with oils over a grey car primer spray
