Greetings all!

With the exception of perhaps a little touch up here and there, I just finished another bust. This is Generaloberst Heinz Wilhelm Guderian by Pegaso. Guderian is considered to be the father of the Panzertruppe and the officer most responsible for the Blitzkrieg. I used Andrea, Jo Sonja, and Vallejo acrylics.

Very natural result Joe. Skintones look very realistic, as do the muted tones of the uniform. Like a period colour photograph.
What did you use for the skintones?

If I may make one comment...the lips could use a bit more warmth imho. Perhaps a very thin glaze of red, or something reddish?

Cheers,
Adrian

That's lovely smooth brushwork Joe. I particularly like the muted red tones you have used on the lapels and litzen backing.
Thanks Roger! I was concerned about making the reds too bright and at one point pushed it too far. I just toned them back a bit with some glazes. I was also worried about doing those collar tabs, but it wasn't anything a size '0' sable with a good tip couldn't handle. :)

Thanks Adrian!

I think that the muted tones are a result of taking the pic with a cell phone, emailing it to myself and then posting here. Pics seem to have the contrast toned down a bit. Apart from that the pics seem a little 'fuzzy' to me.

As for the skintones, I try to follow an SBS that Sang Eon Lee did on an SS Infantryman (see Figure International, #45). For the most part I use some of the colors from the Andrea flesh paint set along with some Jo Sonja's. Namely their Plum Pink.

Might just give the lips another looking into. I originally was going for the chapped lip look as seen in phots of Guderian visiting troops in the field.

Thanks again Adrian, I appreciate your comments and suggestions. :)

This is a very good sculpt and your painting has really brought it to life.

Cheers,
Andrew
Thanks Andrew! Yes indeed, its a beautiful sculpt and that alone made it all the easier :)!

For some reason every time I see your avatar, I get thirsty.
