Hi All;
Beginning this past July in the foothills outside of Calgary, Alberta, filming began on a movie which will tell the story of the battle of Passchendaele in Septemebr of 1917. It is one of those WWI stories which has become symbolic of the futility and waste that is war in general, and that war in particular. I have seen a few of the trailers on Youtube, and I am enclosing one of the blog sites put up by members of the production team. From what I've seen, this film promises to "look" as good as Saving Private Ryan. It is scheduled for release on November 11, 2008 (perfect wouldn't you agree?). Here's the site;

I'd be curious to know how this film will be received outside of Canada. Do you think, for example, that American audiences would be interested in a film that has no direct connection to American history? It worked for "Enemy at the Gates". What do you think?
