Dear guys, after recent efforts, this was a breeze. Pretty much put itself together and painted itself. It was a gem and a joy from start to finish. I used a stippling technique I don't think I will again in this scale, and this was also an experiment in a new technique of representing chain mail & armour. Any comments, question etc. please do ask.

Hi BP

Nice figure , glad it was easier ! , like the stippling works well , like the mail ....how did you approach the painting differently?

Thanks for sharing

Looking forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

Great looking figure, really love how you've kept it toned down making it look realistic especially because no way could the surcoat be kept pristine white. Love it.

Cheers Simon

Nicely done, the weathering works well, he really does look like he has been in the field for a while. Posed like that he looks like he could be part of a vignette.

Well, for a start, I used some acrylics I bought off....you! They were mostly metallics, so I thought I'd give them a go. On a metal figure I have always highly polished any chain mail, then give it a series of washes with sepia-coloured oils paint. This time, I primed it up as a whole figure, rather than masking it off. Then using acrylics built up the effect, using the oils as a final shade...

You're right, Rob. He does look like he could be accompanying someone. I think I have seen him in vignettes down the years. I think this is OOP now, a shame as it is an absolute gem of a figure.

Lovely work friend. Got great results here. The weathering on the boots and shield looks amazing. This guys been putting in a shift!

Chainmail experiment turned out really nice!
