Frigging beautiful miniature, great friends. If it was possible, Richard Galicek surpassed himself in this creation! :)

Pick a chair and consume some time appreciating this beauty:

And here's a quick line drawing by the great Andrea Jula when they were in the search of the right concept! Great to see Pegaso releasing the brain storm process these miniatures pass before they came to life :)

Figure of the year competitor? Unquestionably! Cheers!

Fantastic! I'm lucky to view this, and I'm lucky to view this in my chair:)

This is much more exciting of a figure than the last Celtic horseman they did..wow..

Have to agree. The last one was a bit too static and uninspiring for my taste. Although this one is a very similar pose, the slightly more relaxed 'body language' of both horse and rider make it look much more natural and interesting to my eye.

I passed on the last one, but this one I will probably pick up.

....just think so much of that gorgeous detail will be lost in translation.....shame :(

I dunno Ron, the standard of Pegaso's casting is usually very high. In the hands of a decent brushsmith, this one will paint up a real treat I'm sure.

Sorry Steve....but IMHO...white metal just does not hold the same level of detail as resin...far more hit and miss even at the best of times...
It should not be down to the 'brushsmith' to create what isn't there.....that's old school deception...and I for one ain't that good!

looks like a lot of work and time, but well worth it in the finished result, will def have a go when its released, what scale will it be? / badger

Badger, I think this Celt is too early for Rome. I could well be wrong but think the figure is early La Tène, say mid 5th century BC. But what a fine model!

Good gracious me.... :hungry::wideyed: That Richard Galicek is really a rising star in the Pegaso Models universe :notworthy:

Well I for one hope that Pegaso will never give in to the resin madness... Resin's only use is getting high by it's dust particles during cleaning up... ;)

That's what's good about the hobby everyone has their own views, tastes and preferences.
I really like this fella and will be picking it up. It does have a different 'body language' from the previous mounted celt but believe me the older piece is superb.
It's one of the few mounted figures where horse and rider merge into a convincing unit and the attitude of the original romanticized engraving was perfectly captured, this new one has a similar 'feel' to it.
I particularly like the way the rider leans slightly back and the placing of the lance / totem across the body gives a nice balance to the piece.
Only thing I'll lose is the 2 fringe braids.
Love it.
Cheers

As regards the whole "resin vs metal" debate, both have their pros and cons and this is such a cracker I'd happily take it in either. Looking forward to a release date for this one. (y)
