Latest piece from my bench. A great sculpt from Pegaso, although a complicated build the fit of the parts was superb. I resisted making the armour too ornate as arquebusiers were of Ashigaru status.
Mounted on one of my self made bases with a lovely Nameit name plate. I kept the groundwork simple as I felt this went better with the base. 90mm Oil over acrylic.

Comments on how to improve my work welcome.

Nicely done! Big thumbs up for historical accuracy (y)

Thank you,
Pegaso have done a good job sculpting this, I just feel he is a bit overdressed for an Ashigaru arquebusier.
Makes a nice piece for the display cabinet however.

Quality job Bill. I agree, he is a bit more Samurai than Ashigaru but still a beautiful sculpt. Kurosawa's movie "Kagemusha" covers the Nagashino battle, albeit a bit "hollywood" but a good watch.

Hi Bill
Beautiful paint work I have this same kit part assembled and painted and it’s quite a challenge well done

Thank you Phil,
I just watched "Ran" but there weren't many good shots of Samurai warriors in it. Is " Kagemusha" a black and white movie?

Bill

Hi Bill

No, it's in colour. Released 1980. Lots of good shots of Samurai and Ashigaru. On Amazon ATM from £12.99. Lead actor you will recognise if you ever watched "The Water Margin"
