Hi all and thanks for any info.

I just purchased the Pegaso Bashibuzuk bust but cannot figure out the time period of this piece. There are references to the Bashibuzuk at the fall of Constantiople and afterwards but, does anyone know the time period depicted by this bust?

Thanks for reading!!

He could easly be one mercenary of Ali Pasha ottoman army. He's carrying the same kind of weapons used during the 1821 greek war of independence by both ottoman and greek sides..But I'm neither an expert, just throwing some clues...

Thanks guys, that helps! Wish I could see a bit more of the weapons but your thoughts match mine for time period. I did not think of the Greek WOI but that makes sense! The painting is a great example to go off of!!

Much appreciated, anyone else who wants to chime in, please do!!

Kevin
