WIP Pegaso Byzantine

Hello everyone,
I started a new project, 75mm Byzantine Standardbearer from Pegaso. This time i started with the shield instead of the face. I grinded off the shield hump in the middle to get a flat surface to paint a little freehand on it. I have the feeling that this figure will take me a very very long time to finish. All in acrylics. Look forward to hear your comments, maybe someone has tried something similar and has some advice/ experience for me.

Hi everyone,
I was able to finish the shield before holiday and here is the result of my freehand try. I was always struggling between to try to make it look like the original or to look like a painting on a shield. Anyway, i am alright with it and i try to improve next time. Now i can go on with the figure itself. All in acrylics, all comments are welcome. Greetings, Stephan
