I originally painted this one quite a while ago and I fished it out recently to see if I could improve on it. To be honest, I couldn't see much I could do to make a difference, so I just tidied up some of the undercuts and one or two tiny highlights. Originally I wanted to depict it as a Nubian, rather than a white European, as per the box art. The long hair was therefore removed and the whole was painted in oils, save for the odd gold and silver bits. I've always had a soft spot for it:)

So - Pegaso's Oplomachus Secutor. 54mm White metal, now sadly out of production
Painted in W&N oils with Citadel gold/silver acrylics. Base by Oakwood, plate by Name-it

Thanks for looking in!

That's very nice Phil. Lovely work on the dark skin tones, and the metalwork is beautifully done.

Thank you Peter - much appreciate your comment. The helmet was buffed and polished, then toned down with a Burnt Umber oil wash. I used to do a lot of the metalwork on figures (especially chainmail) like that. Easy when they are metal. With resin you haven't that option.

Like you, I find it good to revisit pieces now and then.

Hi Phil

Certainly like the metallic details being brought out in your painting methods woks well

I like the plain base as well doesn't detract from figure , good positioning on the base as well

Good on you and Peter being ankle to go back to a figure as well

Thanks for V2

Happy be chtine
