Hi Folks, this my first attempt at acrylics after changing from oils early last year, hope you like it. Steve

Steve, not sure if it's the lighting but you seem to have some stark contrast between your colors. Take the shins for instance. These look a bit stark especially considering it's flesh tones. One of the inherit beauties of acrylic paints is you can still tweak the colors. Borrowing a tip from Jaume Ortiz, run a REALLY thinned version of the highlight color over the shadow, then repeat this using the shadow color over the highlight. Of course, run this thin paint over just the edges. After several passes, you'll see the colors beginning to "visually" blend. That's about all I can add to this well painted figure. The metals turned out really well! (y) (y) The flesh tones, although I mentioned the contrast, are well chosen and add a lot of life to the figure. Overall, this is a FINE looking figure and I wish my attempts looked half as good as yours do now!

Thanks for the comments Jim, I can say it is probably the lighting, this photo was taken last year and I was very new to the photo process of figures. I will try and get a better shot done and repost it.

Cheers Steve Walks

I'm not an acrylic painter, but I will agree with Jim regarding the contrast. Other than that, I believe that you are in a good track.
