I finished this one recently and it was my first serious attempt at painting white clothing - which taught me NOT to use white as the base coat (I'll know next time!).

I'm well aware of my shortcomings in comparison with the true master-artists here, and I'd welcome any constructive comments and pointers from fellow planeteers about where you guys think I'm on the right track and where there's room for improvement.

Cheers,

- Steve

Hi Steve,

You are really on the right track mate, I wish my early efforts had been this good. I went on the Masterclass with the Basement earlier this year and the biggest lesson for me was to push the highlights and shadows more, so areas like the inside of the shield could be darker, maybe less highlight but more shadow on the face as it is hidden under the hood. Depends where you see your light source.
Really like the work on the cloak, shield and Leathers-keep it up Steve these are only minor comments and if you like it no-one else really matters.
