this is my first post on planet(y).
it's a wip, painted with oils and acrylics.
I paint rarely and slowly, so my progress slows down...:p

it's difficult to assembly but it's a really cool piece. it seems easy to paint but hides some areas very difficult to make good.
now I'm working on belts and sword, then I'll paint pants and shoes, probably.
thanks, alessandro

Alesandro Welcome the Planet!! Very good start!! Look forwad for the finiched!! Alexandros

Unfortunately the photos are not the best. I'll shot better the coming days (y). Im currently working on his pants and leather straps, missing the maximum light and shadow at the moment:p.
thanks for your comments,
alessandro

hi. I've made some new photos about wip :D.
now i'm working on the cape (maximum shadows and lights) and shield, but miss some profiling and adjustments.
I'm not very convinced by the effect of the interior wooden shield .
thanks for your suggestion.
alessandro

Looks very very nice Alessandro!
I like the leather parts very much.

About the shield: looks basically sound I must say. Maybe you could dampen the wood grain effect down a bit via some subtle washes?

Excellent work!

Cheers,
Adrian

I thought actually make some oil washes once finished painting the front also to harmonize all.
unfortunately I can not make the wood look like I would....

thanks for yours comment, I'm very happy for your words. piece by piece I improve my results and am pleased that the pieces are appreciated:p.
I'm working on the shield, the next step is getting old and make worn skin for a greater impact:mad:.
this week I think vikiing will be finished, but before I suppose that darken the creases of his trousers to give greater effect besides using chalk to make the effect of dust on pants and coat.
will post more photos as soon as the piece is finished.
thanks,
alessandro
