I see that Pegaso are producing some 90mm busts, which have been cut down from some of their full 90mm figures.I attach a 54mm Pegaso bust i cut down and painted many moons ago.Why did i do it? I didn't really like the bottom part of this particular figure.

Brian, this aspect. I truly cannot understand. (90mm Busts) ??? To my mind they do not hold the visual strength of the larger scales. Although your 54mm knight is very impressive, it would be lost in a display cabinet.... What's the point. ??:(:D

90mm 'Bust's, or a definite no from me. It just feels wrong!

However, I shall go and seek my 'Flack-Cap', .. in prep for the incoming.

Regards,

Mark.

I agree with you Mark regards the 90mm busts, but i suppose they'll cater for some folk.My wee knight was done when i was going through a boredom stage and had nothing i wanted to paint,so i started with this figure, got bored again, and took a hacksaw to him.Voila!!!

I've just seen these on the El greco site.
I have to say I was tempted.
At £19.00 I think they are decent value.

I understand the view that 1/9th gives scope for great painting,

For those of us with loads of 32mm minis, 30 and 40mm flats and
54mm figures they will 'fit', and still 'make a statement'.

I'll probably have a couple, but may not buy more.

I applaud them for trying this size.

This concept has been previously been done by a company named http://www.elgrecominiatures.co.uk/contents/en-uk/d342_La_Ruota_del_Tempo.html . I bought the female fantasy bust and was well pleased with it.The original was painted by the oil master Massimo Pasquali.Worth having a look.

90mm busts? Sounds just the job if you're looking for something *relatively* straightforward to paint up over a weekend. Also ideal for novices to practice techniques on without having to spend an arm and a leg on a full 90mm figure. And great for those on tight budgets.

I can see where Pegaso are coming from with these.

Grand work on the 54mm hacksaw job Brian. The neatness of the cut & finish is as impressive as the painting!

Bottom line if you like it buy it, if not just walk on by. Each to their own. (y)
