T-Knight (1).jpg Greetings all!
After months of lacking motivation to paint figures, I finally got sufficiently excited to paint this guy. It was one of my 2014 Christmas gifts from my wife. It went together with no problems and was painted using Andrea and Vallejo acrylics. I used color mixes found in the 'Help with white' post in the SBS Forum. Thanks Bailey! Hope you find him acceptable and as always feel free to point out anything that needs fixing.

Nice one Joe.
Made a really good job of the whites (Which is a colour than can be 'problematic' a euphamism for arrrrrrrrrgh!) :D

If I was being fussy I'd like to see a bit of dirt on the lower edge of the cloak, but I totally get the clean look.

Very nice piece Joe. The whites on the cloack are terrific!
I'd also go for some restrained weathering, but I can imagine you don't want to mess things up.... ;-)

Cheers,
Adrian

Thanks Paul! Actually I have contemplated soiling him up a bit and adding just a touch of blood on his sword. I'm not all that happy with the snow either and will work on this too. Thanks again.

Thanks for checking him out Adrian. I'm going to do exactly that, some restrained weathering and a little more work on the snow. It looked good when first applied, but it dried somewhat translucent :bored:. By the way, what are you working on? Always enjoy looking at your projects :)!

Glad to see you found the motivation to get back into painting, Joe.
That is one impressive figure, mate. Top job on those whites and the eagle motif.
Thanks Nick, I appreciate it! Actually the whites weren't too bad, just a lot of paint layers because I prime in black. Painting that buzzard on the shield and the surcoat is what worried me. In the end I just drew out the design using a very fine marker then followed with the paint brush. Thanks again!

Joe...... wow

A heck of a good job

Glad you got your mojo back, It's been worth waiting for.

Paul.
Thanks Paul, I'm glad you like him! I just couldn't get into it you know. The last thing I did modeling wise was build a P-40 last spring. Oh I've kept up with the hobby, looking at stuff on the internet, picking up some more kits and figures for the stash, here and there. Now, what to do next ?

Joe

Well you seem to like the large scale figures Joe

have you something in the stash that could also go on a winter base and you have a bit of a mini-theme starting?

Have you something you have started and put away worth revisiting?

Paul.

What did you use for snow, its very good.
Can I just call you Hall :D? I used Maus Mix Snow Flakes by Maus Werx. (www.mauswerx.com) Actually I'm going to add some more layers because I'm not completely satisfied with the look as it stands now. I mixed Elmer's white glue with water and brushed it on. Then I sprinkled the snow on and shook the excess off. After it dried I added another layer. Like I said, I'm going to mess with it a bit more. Thanks for checking in Hall (y)!
