Hello mate,
have a crack with the Imperial War Museum in London. You never know, if they can't help they might be able to 'steer' you in the right direction if you pardon the nautical pun. Failing that I think the Royal Navy have a museum themsleves round Greenwich or somewhere, try them.
sorry, I couldn't resist the bad joke

all the best

Tony - I'll try e-mail contact with the Imperial War Museum and the Royal Navy Museum also. I tried something similar on a previous figure [not with those museums] and really didn't get anywhere. I got polite replies, but nothing directly helpful. If I lived in Britain, could go to the museums and ask for the info face-to-face I think I might get somewhere with that method, but I live in Omaha, Nebraska, USA. Incidentally, I spent many an hour in those museums in the 80s when I was living in Britain during my USAF days. So, I'm acquainted with the RN museum location.

Pascal - Thanks for the links. I knew about 3 of them but the Jack Clegg memorial site was helpful. That's the clearest pic of him I've seen. The good RM uniform pictures are helpful. Did you notice the wide variety of field equipment worn by the RM in their graduation picture? One of them has a white (pre-Boer War, I think) Slade Wallace rifle sling. Another has the ammo bandoleer more commonly issued to cavalry. One appears to have a Long Lee Enfield rifle. Sort of backs up all the info I've been able to pick up about the motley collection of field equipment the RND were issued prior to Antwerp 1914.

Still hoping someone has the RND back issues, though.

All the best,
Dan
