I was flicking through an old copy of Military Modelling (May 1990) and saw an advert for a figure by DMH Models, a company set up by Derek Hansen. It was a limited edition figure - only 300 were made. It's a Sergeant, 19th Regt, Crimea, 1854 and is 70mm. I haven't seen or heard of any other models released by DMH.

I just thought I'd share the photo as the figure is so rare and I know Derek Hansen was/is a popular figure designer. One of the best sculptors and painters in my opinion. I believe he lost interest in the hobby..

I agree, he did some brilliant pieces Edward. My favourite being the WW1 11th Dragoon.
I belive he still paints, albeit on canvas,
Carl.:)

I remember seeing this ad in Mil-Mod and thinking, great! 19th Foot, local regt. I wish I'd bought one instead of just thinking about it.

I've got a feeling there's a pic of a painted one in one of the Mil-Mod Euro Specials.
Roger.

Wow! What a true gem of a figure.
I can only hope this hasn't been lost to time.
I wonder who picked up the moulds.
Surely somebody must have?
If this was (re)released tomorrow, they'd be a storm on here, it's such a good figure.

That's true, I can see it being popular if it was released now. Such a shame that so many great figures are no longer in production.

I have this figure in my gray army, when I received it from Derek it had been reduced in rank to a corporal. Derek included a note to say he had got the uniform wrong.

Regards

Brian
