Historical Note:
The Chasseurs d¹Afrique were a light cavalry corps in the French Armée
d¹Afrique recruited from French volunteers and settlers in North Africa
doing their military service. As such they were the mounted equivalent of
the French Zouaves.
They fought in all the major wars in which France was involved from their
inception in the 1830¹s until disbanded in the early 1960¹s.

I really like this bust. Also hoping that Mr. Quang will do some more French subjects from the 2nd Empire and maybe even some FFL stuff.

All the Best, Terry Martin

.... wow !!

Now that is SUPERB ! I knew that it was a great sculpture from what I saw in Antwerp, but your painting really brings it to life.

OK, my friend, now you have no excuse anymore for not doing a 120mm figure of a colourful 19th century military man in uniform :) ....;)

Thank you all for your comments.

This was quite a change for me to go through the uniform regulations, insignias, ... but I'm getting used to it. :)

Cheers,
Quang
