Hi All,
have a 120mm figure, washed, primed, and pin holes discovered.

Researching here on pF, the method seems to be thin down a tube putty, and apply with a dental pick/ scalpel tip/ very fine tool tip.

OK; tube putty; any suggestions? Tamiya grey, squadron, something else?

and I suppose thinning it down depends on what the putty is, but it seems to be some sort of adhesive ie plastics glue

Having put together 1/35 armour (mostly) figures are a new thing, as I wish to populate my vehicles, as well as explore the joys and challenge of busts and figures.

cheers

Jamie

I use Magic Sculpt for such problems. After applying the amount needed I use a large brush with warm water to smooth out the area around the pin hole. End result is no sanding and the pin hole is filled.

Hi Jamie,

Welcome to the Planet mate.

There are no Dumb Arsed Questionson Planet Figure mate, everyone here is learning all the time and we all try to help each other.

I tend to fill pin holes with Squadron Green Putty or Tamiya putty.

I don't bother thinning it, I just slap it on with a tooth pick and work it into the hole until its full. I then give the whole thing a careful sanding with fine grit paper to remove any putty that remains. Try not to sand off any details on the surface.

Once the figure is primed, the pin hole should be invisible. If you can still see it, fill it will putty again and repeat the sanding process.

I hope this helps mate. Show us some pics when you can and keep asking questions.

Cheers

Depending on the pinholes (how much and how much big they are) you can also use the Mr. Surfacer from Gunze Sangyo, it comes with different consistences and you can easily brush it over the piece removing the excess once set with some fine sandpaper.
