A private 1st Polish Light Cavalry Regiment of the Imperial Guard
Scale 90mm, white metal, sculpted by Ray Lamb, produced by Post Militiare.
The figure was subjected to some conversion, since it was originally a Red Lancer.
Painted for a private collection.

Really nice to see a Poste Militaire Mounted figure completed in all its fine glory, Ray Lamb was responsible for truly excellent metal kits and you have done a beautiful job on this, from the sheen of the horse to the matt finish on the uniform, its a work of art.

Lovely paint job on a terrific figure. Ray Lamb is a giant among figure sculptors. I think I have done everything he produced ( some as commissions so I don't have them all now).
Shame he never felt inclined to do British subjects. Never understood why.

I say is, does anyone know if Ray is still with us?

Absoilutely amazing work Stanislav, It is a real pleasure to explore this paint from many different angles. Beautiful work, I really like very much!

Cheers Borek ;)

Very well done painting of this classic. The PM figures by Ray Lamb were the best castings available in their day and they can still stand up today as fine castings. I painted most of the foot figures, but never any of the mounted figures; they were too expensive for me to afford back then. However, I have a couple now in my GGA that I need to drag out and paint.

Many thanks my friends! I have been painting miniatures for only seven years and still did not know about this wonderful sculptor! And still did not know that this is such a universally recognized classic! Especially pleased that I had the opportunity to work with such a sculpture! Friends, where can I see other works of Ray Lamb?
