These are magnificent portraits! Could imagine if Fernando Ruiz or FeR Miniatures started producing a series of 1/16 busts based on these? I'd be bankrupt.

For those interested, the ECPAD service of the French Army has published a very nice book on the portraits of Eugène Burnand.

This is also available on Amazon, although I have to say Pierre, I am very tempted to also order the collection from the Musee du la Legion d'honneur. I also saw what is supposedly a copy of his original book of prints from 1922 on eBay for 450 Euros, but after talking with my book collector brother, I became a little suspicious of the authenticity. Of course my wife also had something to say about me buying a picture book for over $650 CDN.

Anyway I hope you don't mind Rich, but I was so taken by this man's work I added him to the "Artists/Illustrators" Thread.
