I am painting the Poste Militaire Chasseur a Cheval (full dress) and am having trouble positioning the sword/scabbard on the figure. Does anyone have any pictures of the back of this figure. There are none provided with the kit and I can't find any in the catalogue or on the internet. It is so frustrating at times when manufacturers do not provide enough information or pictures!

Any help would be gratefully received.

Debra hi

drop me your email and I'll foward a couple of scans.

In essence however you have three attachment points for the sabretache on the waist belt (one where the left hand rests, one in line with the middle of the back, and a third between them).

The sword hangs on two slings that attach to the same point as the two outer sabretache slings.

Hope this makes sense

Debbie, I have these images which should be of help to you. The first and second images were scanned from Lucien Rousselot's "Chasseurs A Cheval De La Garde", Plate #69 . The first shows the sword belt on an individual without the pelisse. This way you can see the wole thing on someone.

The second shows the entire belt.

The third image comes from Histoire & Collections "The French Imperial Guard- #2 Cavalry, 1804- 1815 . This shows an individual more closely dressed to the one your'e painting. Just to help a little more.

Hope this helps,
