On Tuesday this week, I phoned the guys at Historex Agents in Dover with the slim hope in mind, that they might obtain some non-standard spare parts that have never been available on their lists.

ie: A couple of extra Coachlamps for my Waterloo diorama.

"I know I'm putting you on the spot, I'll phone you back tomorrow for whatever answer you can provide".

On Wednesday at lunchtime, I phoned back.
Naturally expecting to be told sorry Paul, non standard bits like that will have to be ordered separately and goodness knows when we would get them;
I was flabbergased to be told By Lee "Yeah Paul, I found some, they may not be the exact ones,
but you can convert 'em I know that.

THEY ARE ON THE WAY! ."

I hadn't even asked the cost !
Sure enough, the next day the correct ones arrived

With a few bits n bobs for spares on the same coach kit.

What a nice thing for them to do.

If they read this Thanks lads,
If they don't, I have sent some cash for office cream cakes.

I have previously offered to
'Help them keep the spares section tidy' Mick.

there was only two conditions.
First, they were to promise not to frisk me on the way out.
Secondly, they were to ignore the bulging carrier bags
I didn't arrive with!

The different generations of staff have always been helpful.
in my experience.

Thanks for taking the time to do the above comment. The dealers are quick to hear the gripes and very seldom hear any praise. I usually do the same thing with Waiters/waitresses managers when they do an exceptional job, as the waiters usually only hear complaints and gripes.
They Historex Agents will hear and appreciate your comments. Someone will pass it along.

Thanks John, I always try to do that with receptionists and incoming call handlers too. Often they are the most taken for granted positions in a business.

I wrote a letter in praise of Historex Agents' service to MM a couple of decades ago and they published it. Sounds like HA's corporate culture of customer responsiveness is well established and firmly embedded. Great on them!
 
I've always had great service from them especially since I left the UK nearly 20 years ago and they have always got the VAT deduction correct.

Lynn Sangster founded Historex Agents on just this ethos -- to provide a return-of-post service, and as much advice as you could handle. A fine tradition that has continued without fail through the years. Good to hear.
